How to make custom fit Ditto garments

Updated over 2 months ago

Creating a Measurement Profile

Ditto’s custom Measurement Profiles offer 17 points of measure for women’s patterns, 15 points of measure for men’s patterns, and 12 for children. To create a new profile, first download your desired pattern (in the wearer’s closest standard size) to the Pattern Library. From there, select your pattern and scroll down to Size Customization.

Here, you can name the profile and input each measurement. Click the “?” symbol next to each point of measure to learn how to collect measurements for Ditto. This may differ from your previous experience.

Check out this video for women’s profiles to see another visual guide.

Make sure to list all measurements. The fields auto-populate with the standard size measurements, so you should record and input every point to ensure the best fit. Select Apply when finished.

Managing Measurement Profiles

You can find the size charts for any pattern located in the size section on the specific pattern page. You can also start making/editing measurement profiles directly from patterns in your library, as outlined in the first section.

To manage measurement profiles, navigate to our website. From the account section, select My Account.

Click Measurement Profiles. This page allows you to create, edit, or delete a profile. Select + Create New Profile to get started. Accounts can have an unlimited number of profiles.

Sizing

Women's patterns range from size 0 to 28, while men's patterns include sizes 35 to 52. Children's patterns include 2–6 or 7–16. However, using the made to measure feature, users can enter measurements that extend past the standard sizes. The system will adjust the pattern to accommodate those measurements.

Ditto Designer patterns include standard sizes X-Small to XXXX-Large for adults and X-Small to XX-Large for kids. You cannot customize the measurements for these patterns through Ditto.

Bust Adjustments

Adjust the bust using both the bust circumference and the underbust circumference. The difference in those two measurements will define cup size.

Partner Brand Patterns

Partner brand patterns are not made to measure. They offer projectable patterns in sizes and fits their customers love and expect. When purchased, you can access every available size and the brand’s specific size chart. Feel free to mix and match pattern piece sizes to create the best fit.

Ditto Designer and Ditto Craft Patterns

These patterns are not made to measure. They include standard sizes X-Small to XXXX-Large for adults and X-Small to XX-Large for kids.

Pattern Variations

The yellow "customizable" tag indicates available design variations for Ditto brand patterns. For example, you may change a neckline, sleeve type, garment length, etc. Each pattern offers different variations.

Seam Allowance

Most Ditto patterns include a standard 5/8" seam allowance. Other brands, including Ditto Designer and Ditto Craft, will vary. Check the sewing instructions before getting started.
